To those involved in a real estate situation:

In August 2006 I was dying as a result of the intense inversion that had recently enveloped the valley.  My age and condition made me vulnerable to the pollutants in the air.  I loved my small farm; the orchard, llama herd, the woods I had planted , the fresh eggs from my chickens, the home grown food and the smile on my wife's face that made me happy each day.  I never thought of leaving just because I was dying or because an older friend of mine died a few months earlier from complications from the smog.

One day my wife called me to the door and said someone wanted to talk to me about the property.  The man who showed up there saved my life.  His name:  Alain Eav.  Today he is a friend, a respected and admired friend!

He showed me how I could use my property to make a new life in a place where I could get my health back.

I have gotten my health back!  End of story!

But the middle of the story is the interesting part!  Because of my ailments I was unable to attend to the complicated details related to irrigation and deed irregularities of the water shares which had never been registered and were part of the land deal.  Alain did all of the work to make things happen and got us through the maze of paperwork and signings and gave us lists to help us through each step of the way.  He is a consummate professional and an even better human being. 

There are many other details which could serve to show that this is a person in whom I have complete trust based on the hard work he did for my family and me.  I will stop here to say that Alain will do what he can to be real and straight with you.  I recommended him to three other people who had similarly professional and warm experiences with him  He made me look good!

I am happy in my new life and I am happy to have Alain as a friend.  I include his wife and children, to whom he introduced me, as part of what makes him wonderful.  If it sounds to you like I love this guy as the great human being he is  -  I do!  My family thinks he is great too and they feel grateful for all his hard work.

My wife and I had received an offer from a developer who was planning a high density transit oriented development. We had bought our land with the idea that it would eventually become attractive to a developer for just such a purpose, so the idea of selling was something we were prepared for. The developer offered a price that was two thirds of the rock bottom price we would need to relocate, and half of our dream price.

A friend suggested I talk to Alan. It was the best move we could have made.

In a very short time, Alan had other developers coming by to see the property and we began receiving offers. We finally got an offer that was our dream price. But it was going to be tricky. The developer wanted our property and five smaller adjoining properties or the deal was off. Alan was able to get all the other owners a good price and they agreed to the deal.

But during the long period of soil tests, water rights negotiations, and some foot-dragging on the part of the developers the deal almost fell through a number of times. Through it all, Alan was able to convince all the owners not to pull out, kept the developers on track with their responsibilities, and was kept informed of behind the scenes actions through his network of contacts.

On top of it all, besides working honestly and responsibly for our interests, it was always a pleasure to work with Alan. I always looked forward to seeing him and getting even the smallest chance to visit.
And, thanks to his hard work and deep knowledge of every aspect and twist and turn of the situation, my wife and I are now in our dream home, and with a good nest egg towards our retirement, as well.
